Susannah McCorkle jazz singerBorn: 1/4/1946 Birthplace: Berkeley, Calif. sultry-voiced singer and accomplished writer known for her literary interpretation of jazz standards. Fluent in six languages, McCorkle was particularly fond of translating and performing Brazilian pop songs. She recorded 17 albums and had her fiction published in magazines and the O.
