Herbert Alexander Simon
social scientist and economist
Born: 6/15/1916
Birthplace: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

polymath who won several awards, including the 1978 Nobel Prize in Economics, for his theory on decision making and his groundbreaking research and work on artificial intelligence. He was awarded the National Medal of Science in 1986 and was inducted into the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994, one of only 14 foreign scientists to be so honored.
