Our muscles are made up of a network of fibers that are laced together in a specific pattern. When we pull a muscle, some fibers get moved out of place, and the muscle doesn’t work without causing pain. Our body has to repair the muscle and fix the alignment so the fibers can slide together smoothly during a contraction. Once this happens, we are able to run and play once again painfree.
