Michael Gambon

Gambon joined Britain's National Theatre in 1963, and made his first film appearance in the 1965 Olivier Othello. His notable stage appearances include roles in The Life of Galileo (1980) and Volpone (1995). His films include The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989) and Sleepy Hollow (1999). After the death of Richard Harris, who'd played Albus Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films, Gambon took over the role in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004).
