Why do men go bald?

Men can lose their hair at any time in their lives, not only when they grow old. Bald men have an inherited trait that makes them lose their hair in a special pattern. That pattern even has a name, male pattern baldness. So when a young man starts to lose his hair, his body is following the instructions of his genetic code, just like when your body makes blonde or black hair, blue or brown eyes.
