Description: Returning home from a bombing mission over Germany, Royal Air Force squadron leader Peter Carter, survives a jump from his burning plane without a parachute. Due to the incompetence of an angel, Carter escapes his appointment with death, which causes great consternation in Heaven. To further complicate matters, Carter falls helplessly in love with an American radio operator. Caught in the nether world between Earth and the next life, Carter must plead his case before a heavenly tribunal.
