Of major concern is the stress placed on the radioactive water containment structures and the possibility of further explosions due to the release of hydrogen and oxygen from the water. Despite assurances by health officials that radiation from the stricken plant is unlikely to show up in food supplies worry among consumers and businesses in the U.S. continues to grow. Leading chefs, such as New York City's Eric Ripert whose restaurant Le Bernardin is known for its seafood, are now scanning fish with a radiation detector as a precaution.

This is a loss for the league because now a potential deal can be overseen by the court, something owners wanted to avoid.
