TAYLOR, Arthur Herbert, a Representative from Indiana; born at Caledonia Springs, Canada, February 29, 1852; moved with his parents to Yates County, N.Y., in 1856; attended the local school; taught school for several years; moved to Indianapolis, Ind., in 1869; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1873 and commenced practice in Indianapolis, Ind.; moved to Petersburg, Ind., in 1874 and continued the practice of law; prosecuting attorney for the eleventh judicial circuit of Indiana 1880-1884; elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-third Congress (March 4, 1893-March 3, 1895); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1894 to the Fifty-fourth Congress; resumed the practice of law in Petersburg, Ind., until his death February 20, 1922; interment in Walnut Hills Cemetery.
