Tiger Woods Is Back at the Top of His Game

Tiger holds up his first Players trophy last week in Florida.

Last week Tiger Woods added a big title to his already impressive list of victories. He won his first Players Championship. The Players was the only important title the 25-year-old golf superstar had never won. He defeated Fijian golfer Vijay Singh by just one stroke.

The victory, which came with a $1,080,000 prize, brought an end to a six-month winless slump for the golfing phenomenon.

This week he sets his sights on the Masters Tournament. Tiger has won the Masters, one of golf’s most prestigious events, once before, in 1997. If he takes home the trophy again this week, he will become the first golfer to hold four major championship titles at once.

After his latest win, Tiger feels confident about the next challenge. "Looking at the trophies that I have on my mantel, three are lined up," he said. "Put another one on there, it looks pretty good."
