What Do Theropod Dinosaurs and Birds Have in Common?

Theropod dinosaurs and birds have a lot in common besides feathers! Here's a list:

A wishbone - The wishbone is where two clavicles meet. Clavicle bones connect the shoulders to the rib cage to the breastbone.

Long, thin shoulder blades

Light, hollow bones - A bird's light bones enable it to fly. While dinosaurs that were not from the theropod group had heavy skeletons, quick-moving theropods had light bones.

Swiveling wrists - Curbed bones allow the hands to fold against the lower arm.

Three-clawed feet - In both birds and dinosaurs, the middle claw is longest.

Legs and feet built for two-legged walking - While theropods had arms instead of wings, they walked only on their hind legs.
