Ten Best Metropolitan Areas in the United StatesPittsburgh, Pennsylvania, can boast that it’s the home to the first baseball stadium built in the United States—Forbes Field, constructed in 1909—and the Steelers, who have won a record five Super Bowls. In April 2007, the city earned another claim to fame when it was ranked the #1 metropolitan area in the country by the latest Places Rated Almanac. The areas were ranked by their ambience (the cultural offerings in the city), housing, economy, transportation, education, health care, crime, recreation, and climate.
