Today's Weather Fact...

On this date in 1980, it rained ash for over a hundred miles after Mount Saint Helens in Washington erupted, spewing stone, ash and toxic gas 63,000 feet into the air. Heavy ash blanketed the ground as the wind carried it for miles and even small particles of ash from the eruption were detected as far away as the Atlantic coast.
