On this date in 1993, high winds blew through Lake Tahoe, Calif. Sustained winds were measured at 122 mph with gusts peaking at 176 mph. The low pressure system also produced gusts of 80 mph in Reno, Nev., and up to 21 in of snow in the Sierra Nevadas.
