Anne Enright Biography

Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland

Anne Enright won the Man Booker Prize for fiction in 2007 for her novel, The Gathering, which tells the story of a large Irish family reuniting for the funeral of their rebellious brother. Many of Enright’s short stories have been published in The New Yorker and the Paris Review. Her richly detailed prose combine honesty and subtle humor to portray enthralling stories of family relationships, repression, and emotional turmoil in contemporary Ireland.
