Vonn, Lindsey Caroline

Vonn, Lindsey Caroline, 1984–, American skier, b. St. Paul, Minn., as Lindsey Caroline Kildow, married U.S. skier Thomas Vonn, 2007–13. The only American to win four overall World Cup titles (2008–10, 2012), she also won eight World Cup downhill titles (2008–13, 2015, 2016), five super-G titles (2009–12, 2015), and three combined titles (2010–12) over her 19-year career. The first American to win 40 or more World Cup races, Vonn won 82 races before she retired in 2019; her 63d win in 2015 broke the World Cup record for women. Vonn won the downhill gold and super-G bronze at the Winter Olympics in 2010 and the downhill bronze in 2018 as well as 8 world championship medals (2 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze) in the downhill and super-G.
