Benedetto da Majano

Benedetto da Majano bānādĕtˈtō dä mäyäˈnō [key], 1442–97. Italian sculptor and architect of the Florentine school. His pulpits, altarpieces, and other church furniture are beautifully executed. Examples of his work are in Santa Croce and the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence, and in San Domenico, Siena. He completed the tomb of Mary of Aragón (Naples), begun by Antonio Rossellino.
