Giunta Pisano

Giunta Pisano jo͞on´tä pēzä´nō [key], fl. 1236–1255, Italian painter of Pisa. Among his signed works are three very large depictions of the Crucifixion executed for the churches of San Ranierino, Pisa Santa Maria degli Angeli, Assisi and San Domenico, Bologna. He also painted a Crucifixion with the Franciscan Father Elias for the Church of St. Francis at Assisi, which has perished.
