La Trémoille, Louis de

La Trémoille or La Trimouille, Louis de də lä trāmoiˈyə or trēmo͞oˈyə [key], 1460–1525, French general; grandson of Georges de La Trémoille. He commanded the army that attempted to secure Brittany for the French crown after the death (1488) of Duke Francis II. He distinguished himself in the Italian Wars, notably at Fornovo (1495), Marignano (1515), and Pavia (1525).
