Geshur

Geshur gē´shər [key] or Geshuri gĕsh´yo͞orī, gĕshyo͞o´rī [key], in the Bible. 1 Small Aramaic kingdom that remained in the territory allotted to Manasseh. It occupied barren land NE of the Sea of Galilee. After the division of Israel, it became a part of the Aramaic kingdom of Damascus. A daughter of one of its kings married David and was the mother of Absalom. See Aram 1. 2 Aboriginal people in Philistia.
