Ndola əndō´lä [key], city (1990 est. pop. 376,311), N central Zambia, near the Congo. It is a commercial, mining, and manufacturing center, located in the Copperbelt . Copper mining in Ndola long antedates the coming of the Europeans (c.1900). Manufactures include cement, footwear, and soap motor vehicles are assembled. Ndola is the site of Northern Technical College (1964) and a campus of the Univ. of Zambia (1978).
