Vänersborg

Vänersborg vĕnərsbôrˈyə [key], city (1990 pop. 20,010), capital of Älvsborg co., SW Sweden, at the southwest tip of Lake Vänern; founded in the mid-17th cent. It is an industrial center and a port on the Göta Canal. Manufactures include footwear, machines, forest products, and bricks.
