Monessen

Monessen mənĕsˈən [key], city (1990 pop. 9,901), Westmoreland co., SW Pa., in a hilly region, on the Monongahela River; founded 1898, inc. 1921. Monessen was formerly a steel producer; it now manufactures wire products and fencing.
