Bednorz, Johannes Georg yōhänˈəs gāôrkhˈ bĕdˈnôrts [key], 1950–, German physicist. After earning his doctorate from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, he began (1982) work at the IBM Zürich Research Laboratory with Karl Alex Müller.
