Thelonious Monk

Jazz pianist, composer, and arranger known for his influence on avant-garde jazz and for making the first bebop records with fellow musicians Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. He composed “Round Midnight,” “Straight No Chaser,” and “Epistrophy.”
