John Frankenheimer

Beginning his career as a television director, he later became a major film director of the 1960s, with such acclaimed features as The Young Savages (1961), The Birdman of Alcatraz (1962), The Manchurian Candidate (1962), The Fixer (1964), and Seconds (1966), Reindeer Games (2000). In addition to his films, he returned to television in the '90s, winning Emmys for his direction of telefilms The Burning Season (1994) and Andersonville (1996), and was nominated for his direction of George Wallace (1998).
