100 hours of continuous snow

On this date in 1988, it finally stopped snowing in Marquette, Michigan, after more than 100 hours of continuous snow. The final snowfall figure was 43 inches. The southeast United States was also having an unseasonable cold snap: 41 cities recorded record low temperatures.
