Tornado takes a long trip

On this date in 1957, a tornado landed southwest of Kansas City and didn't relent until it had travelled 71 miles on the ground, devastating the southeast suburbs of Ruskin Heights and Hickman Hills. The storm claimed 45 lives and left hundreds more homeless.
