Hurricane Cleo whips up 135 mph winds

On this date in 1964 Hurricane Cleo hit Miami, Florida, after killing more than a dozen people in the French West Indies. Cleo moved up the east coast as it steadily weakened. The storm, with gusts up to 135 mph, caused an estimated $125 million in damages.
