Jessica Tandy

This accomplished, versatile actress won acclaim on Broadway, winning her first Tony as the original Blanche du Bois in A Streetcar Named Desire (1948). Tony Awards followed for The Gin Game (1978) and Foxfire (1982). She played in several films, winning an Oscar for Driving Miss Daisy (1989) and nominated for Fried Green Tomatoes (1992). Other films include The Birds (1963), Cocoon (1985), Used People (1992) and Nobody's Fool (1994). Tandy also earned a law degree in 1974. Her second husband was actor Hume Cronyn.
