Jude Law

actor
Born: 12/29/1972
Birthplace: London, England

Beguiling British actor who has played the bad boy in several films, Law's performance is often considered the best part of his early films, which are largely forgettable. Having played opposite Claire Danes in I Love You, I Love You Not (1996), he went on to play Kevin Spacey's troublesome houseguest in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997). His leading role in Gattaca (1997) allowed him to explore yet another troubled character, though one with redeeming qualities for a change. He lost the redeeming qualities in his portrayal of Oscar Wilde's egocentric lover Sir Alfred Douglas in Wilde (1998), and costarred with Gwyneth Paltrow and Matt Damon in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). He has also appeared in Love, Honour and Obey (2000), Enemy at the Gates (2001)and A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
