College, 1968; served as Director, Office of Students and Youth, Office of United States Commissioner of Education, United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, 1969-1970; staff assistant to United States Senator Walter F. Mondale, 1970-1971; director, Connecticut (Hartford) Citizen Action Group, 1971-1974; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1975-January 3, 1983); was not a candidate in 1982 for reelection to the United States House of Representatives but was an unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate; television news anchorman in West Hartford, Conn., 1986-1989; unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundred Second Congress in 1990; is a resident of Stony Creek, Conn.
