TIBBOTT, Harve, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born near Ebensburg, Cambria County, Pa., May 27, 1885; attended the public schools; was graduated from the school of pharmacy of the University of Pittsburgh in 1906; engaged in the retail drug business and as a pharmacist in Ebensburg, Pa., in 1906; treasurer of the William Penn Highway Association 1913-1915; treasurer of Cambria County, Pa., 1932-1935; member of the Republican State committee in 1936 and 1937; president of the First National Bank of Ebensburg since 1938; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth and to the four succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1939-January 3, 1949); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1948 to the Eighty-first Congress; returned to Ebensburg and resumed his banking career as president and chairman of the board of the First National Bank; died December 31, 1969, in Ebensburg, Pa.; interment in Lloyd Cemetery.
