MARKELL, Henry, (son of Jacob Markell), a Representative from New York; born in Stone Arabia, Montgomery County, N.Y., February 7, 1792; attended the common schools; studied law; was admitted to the bar and practiced; elected as an Adams candidate to the Nineteenth and Twentieth Congresses (March 4, 1825-March 3, 1829); died in Palatine, N.Y., on August 30, 1831; interment in the cemetery at St. Johnsville, Montgomery County, N.Y.
