TAYLOR, Isaac Hamilton, a Representative from Ohio; born near New Harrisburg (later Hibbetts), Carroll County, Ohio, April 18, 1840; attended the common schools and completed an academic course; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1867 and commenced practice in Carrollton, Ohio; clerk of court in Carroll County, Ohio, 1870-1877; elected as a Republican to the Forty-ninth Congress (March 4, 1885-March 3, 1887); was not a candidate for renomination in 1886; moved to Canton, Ohio, and resumed the practice of law; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1892; judge of the court of common pleas from 1889 to 1901, when he resigned; engaged in the practice of his profession in Canton, Ohio, until 1922; died at Congress Lake, near Hartville, Stark County, Ohio, December 18, 1936; interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Canton, Ohio.
