TREZVANT, James, a Representative from Virginia; born in Sussex County, Va., birth date unknown; completed preparatory studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Jerusalem, Va.; attorney general of Virginia; delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1820; served in the State house of delegates; elected to the Nineteenth and Twentieth Congresses and as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress (March 4, 1825-March 3, 1831); chairman, Committee on Military Pensions (Twenty-first Congress); died in Southampton County, Va., September 2, 1841.
