SESTAK, Joe, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Secane, Delaware County, Pa., December 12, 1951; graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School, Springfield, Pa.; B.S., United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., 1974; M.P.A., Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., 1980; Ph.D., Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., 1984; United States Navy, 1974-2005; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Tenth and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2007-January 3, 2011); not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Twelfth Congress, but was an unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate in 2010.
