McCOY, Robert, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Carlisle, Pa., birth date unknown; attended the common schools; prothonotary of Cumberland County; brigadier general of militia; state canal commissioner; elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-second Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative William Ramsey (November 22, 1831-March 3, 1833); died in Wheeling, Va. (now West Virginia), June 7, 1849.
