William Frederick WALDOW, Congress, NY (1882-1930)

WALDOW, William Frederick, a Representative from New York; born in Buffalo, N.Y., August 26, 1882; attended the common schools; apprenticed as a plumber and later engaged as a plumbing contractor; elected a member of the board of aldermen of Buffalo in 1912 and 1913; member of the New York Republican State committee in 1916; elected as a Republican to the Sixty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1917-March 3, 1919); unsuccessful for reelection in 1918 to the Sixty-sixth Congress; resumed former business pursuits; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1920; sheriff of Erie County, N.Y., 1921-1923; died in Snyder (a suburb of Buffalo), N.Y., April 16, 1930; interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
