DAWSON, William Johnson, a Representative from North Carolina; born near Edenton, Chowan County, N.C., birth date unknown; member of the State house of commons, 1791; served as a member of the committee appointed in 1791 to fix a permanent place for the seat of government of North Carolina; elected as an Anti-Administration candidate to the Third Congress (March 4, 1793-March 3, 1795); died in Bertie County, N.C., in 1798.
