VAN PELT, William Kaiser, a Representative from Wisconsin; born in Glenbeulah, Sheboygan County, Wis., March 10, 1905; moved with his parents to Fond du Lac, Wis., and attended the public schools, graduating from high school in 1924; owner and operator of City Fuel Co., Fond du Lac, Wis., 1939-1952; chairman of Fond du Lac County Republican Committee 1944-1950; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1944; elected as a Republican to the Eighty-second and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1951-January 3, 1965); was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1964 to the Eighty-ninth Congress; was a resident of Fond du Lac, Wis., until his death on June 2, 1996.
