Birthplace: Kalispell, Montana
Until her Golden Globe and Oscar nominated performance in Brokeback Mountain (2005), this pouty-lipped, wide-eyed, slow-burn, blonde was best known for her role as Jennifer Lindley, the bad girl turned good, in the TV hit series, Dawson's Creek (1998–2003). The series focused on the coming of age of four high school friends in a fictitious New England coastal town. Williams began her acting career at 14 in the film Lassie (1994) and followed that up with a series of small TV and film appearances before landing the Lindley role. She jumped back to the big screen in the slasher flick, Halloween, H20 (1998) then in the Watergate comedy Dick (1999) with Kirsten Dunst, and in the Sundance favorite The Station Agent (2003).
