Don Imus

(John Donald Imus, Jr.)
radio host, writer
Born: 7/23/1940
Birthplace: Riverside, Calif.

This often crude, sometimes belligerent, proudly uneducated pundit daily reaches at least 15 million listeners on some 100 stations every day through his nationally syndicated show. Considered the most influential person in radio, Don Imus has been a leading personality on the airwaves since his 1971 debut in New York; he describes his Imus in the Morning as “a talk show, but I talk.” Bill Clinton's New York success in the 1992 presidential campaign has been attributed in part to his three appearances on Imus's show during that year. Imus's novel, God's Other Son (1981), spent three months on the New York Times bestseller list.
