Katharine Ross

Born: 1/29/1940
Birthplace: Hollywood, California

Ross's film career made a promising start when she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance as Elaine Robinson in The Graduate (1967). She followed this coup by appearing with Paul Newman and Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969). However, less inspired roles kept her career from soaring. Ross acted in the TV series The Colbys (1985–87) and has appeared with her husband, actor Sam Elliott, in films such as The Legacy (1979). Other film roles include Home Before Dark (1997) and Donnie Darko (2001).
