Rich Mullins

Christian singer, songwriter

Birthplace: Richmond, Indiana

After Amy Grant made a hit recording of his song “Sing Your Praise to the Lord” (1982), Mullins went on to record nine albums himself and was nominated 12 times for a Gospel Dove Award. His memorable albums include Rich Mullins (1986), Winds of Heaven…Stuff of Earth (1988, which includes the song “Awesome God”), and A Liturgy, a Legacy, and a Ragamuffin Band (1993). Mullins taught music to Navajo children in Arizona.
