The likable, curly-haired Steve Guttenberg first appeared onscreen in a 1976 Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial; the following year he starred in the teen comedy The Chicken Chronicles. Although this was followed by the turkey Can't Stop the Music (1980), about The Village People, Guttenberg soon won acclaim for his performance in Diner (1982). He has since been a frequent comedic lead, appearing in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel, and in the Police Academy movies (1984, 1985, 1986, 1987). He has also appeared in such features as the film Home for the Holidays (1995).
