Cyrus Tang

Tang moved to the United States in 1950 and attended Widener University and the Illinois Institute of Technology. In 1960 he helped found Electronetics, a Chicago firm to stamp and laminate transformers and motors. Four years later Tang set up a steel service company, National Material Corp. As his business interests expanded and diversified, he created Tang Industries in 1971. Today Las Vegas-based Tang Industries is a multi-billion dollar empire includes industrial steel, scrap metal, aluminum, office furniture, and pharmaceuticals. It employs 3,400 people at 40 locations in the U.S., Canada, China, and Mexico.
