Best Known as: granddaughter-in-law of etiquette expert Emily Post

Born Elizabeth Lindley, Elizabeth Post married her second husband, the grandson of Emily Post, in 1944. In 1965, she revised the 11th edition of her grandmother-in-law's iconic Emily Post's Etiquette. Always trying to stay abreast of changing fashions and mores, Post went on to produce five more editions of the classic and more than a dozen other books on etiquette. In addition to writing books, Elizabeth Post was also the director of the Emily Post Institute in New York City for 30 years beginning in 1965, took over Emily Post's syndicated column "Doing the Right Thing," and authored a Good Housekeeping column called "Etiquette for Everyday." Post died at age 89 in Florida.
