Nézet-Séguin, Yannick

Nézet-Séguin, Yannick, 1975–, Canadian conductor and pianist. After studying piano at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec, Montreal, and choral conducting at the Westminster Choir College, Princeton, N.J., he was named music director of the Orchestre Métropolitan, Montreal (2000–) and of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra (2008–18). Nézet-Séguin also served as principal guest conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra (2008–14). He became music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2012 and of the Metropolitan Opera in 2018.
