Skerrit, Roosevelt

Skerrit, Roosevelt, 1972–, Dominican political leader. A member of the Dominica Labor party, he has served in parliament since 2000. He became DLP leader and prime minister in 2004 following the death of his predecessor, Pierre Charles, earlier that year. Skerrit has since led the DLP to electoral victories in 2005, 2009, 2014, and 2019, and has served as minister of finance, of education, and of foreign affairs in addition to prime minister.
