Vonn, Lindsey Caroline

Vonn, Lindsey Caroline, 1984–, American skier, b. St. Paul, Minn., as Lindsey Caroline Kildow, married U.S. skier Thomas Vonn, 2007–13. She competed in her first World Cup event in 2000 and since then has become the only American to win four overall World Cup titles (2008–10, 2012); she also has won eight World Cup downhill titles (2008–13, 2015, 2016), five super-G titles (2009–12, 2015), and three combined titles (2010–12) The first American to win 40 or more World Cup races, Vonn passed the 80 wins mark in 2018; her 63d win in 2015 broke the World Cup record for women. In 2010 Vonn won the downhill gold and super G bronze at the Winter Olympics; in 2018 she won the downhill bronze.
